1. Who we are

HoHoCam is an iPhone app that turns a photo of your room into night-camera style footage of Santa. It is made by Boz Apps, an independent developer, which is responsible for your data under this policy. For anything in this policy, write to bozapps2026@gmail.com.

2. What we collect, and why

2.1 The room photo you choose

The app asks for your permission before it sends any photo. When you make a photo or a clip, it sends the room photo you picked over an encrypted connection to our server. Our server does not save it; it passes it on to the services that make your footage (see section 4):

  • an AI image and video service that draws Santa into your room, and
  • an AI model that looks at the room to suggest scenes that fit it, and checks every take for obvious mistakes before you see it.

We tell the image and video service not to keep a copy of the request, and the images and clips it produces are set to be deleted from its servers after 24 hours. Clips are also copied to our cloud storage so your phone can download them; we delete them there automatically after 24 hours. The finished footage is saved on your phone, and that copy is yours.

We never use your photos or footage to train, fine-tune or evaluate AI models, and we do not sell or share them for anyone else to do so. We only receive the photos you choose to use; the app does not upload anything else from your photo library.

2.2 The name on the camera label

If you type a name for the camera label (for example “CAM 01 · ELLA”), it is sent with the request so it can be printed onto your footage. We do not store it, and we keep it out of our logs.

2.3 An anonymous identifier

On first launch the app creates a random identifier (anonymous sign-in). We use it to keep your credit balance, to match purchases to it, and to limit how much footage one identifier can make per hour so the service can’t be abused. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or Apple ID, and you never create an account.

2.4 Purchases

Apple processes every payment; we never see your card or bank details. Our purchase-management service receives the App Store transaction (product, price, currency, date and transaction ID) together with your anonymous identifier, plus basic technical details such as the app version, iOS version and country. We store the transaction ID, the product and the credits it added so we can keep your balance right and handle refunds.

2.5 Technical logs

Our servers log technical events — the anonymous identifier, the time, the scene you picked, how long each step took and any errors — to keep the service working. Logs never contain your photos or footage.

2.6 Things we do not collect

  • No name, email, phone number or contacts (unless you email us yourself).
  • No location.
  • No advertising identifier, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking.
  • We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

3. Children

HoHoCam is a tool for parents and other grown-ups. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Buying credits sits behind a parent check. Please do not use photos in which children or other people can be identified — the app is designed for empty rooms, and the result is better that way too.

4. Who processes your data for us

We use a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs for the job below, and each is bound by its data-processing terms to protect your data at least as well as this policy does:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud (Google LLC, USA) — our servers, anonymous sign-in, the database that holds your credit balance and purchase records, clip storage and logs.
  • fal.ai (Features & Labels, Inc., USA) — runs the AI image and video models that make your footage, and provides access to the scene-check model below.
  • Anthropic (USA), reached through fal.ai and OpenRouter (USA) — the Claude model that suggests scenes for your room and checks each take. These providers may keep request data for a limited time under their own security and abuse-monitoring policies.
  • RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) — records App Store purchases and tells our server which credits to add.
  • Apple — distributes the app and processes payments and refunds.

Your data is processed in the United States. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the data-processing terms these providers offer.

5. How long we keep things

  • Room photos: not stored on our servers.
  • Images and clips on our AI provider’s servers and in our clip storage: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
  • Footage on your phone: until you delete it.
  • Anonymous identifier, credit balance and purchase records: for as long as you use the app, or until you ask us to delete them; purchase records as long as refunds, accounting and tax law require.
  • Technical logs: 30 days.
  • Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you.

6. Your choices and rights

You can withdraw your permission to send photos at any time in Settings → Photo sharing with AI; the app then uploads nothing (and can’t make new footage until you allow it again). In the app, Settings → Delete all footage removes every photo and clip stored in the app on your iPhone; copies on servers are already deleted automatically as described above. To delete your anonymous identifier, credit balance and purchase records too, follow the steps on Delete account & data. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or restrict the use of your data, to object to how it is used, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Email us and we will help.

7. Security

Photos and footage travel over encrypted connections. Your credit balance can only be changed by our server, and access to our systems is restricted to the developer.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
